Workshops will start Mid January 2027
Epsom Rising is a new large-scale community music and heritage project bringing local schools together for a shared performance at Epsom Downs Racecourse.
Inspired by the success of Redhill Rising, the project will help children explore the history and identity of Epsom through music, storytelling and inclusive communication.
Participating schools will learn a brand-new original song and take part in workshops designed to prepare pupils for the final performance.
Children will also have the opportunity to experience the racecourse itself through guided tours, historical stories, artefacts and activities exploring the heritage of Epsom, the Derby and Epsom Downs Racecourse.

From January to April 2027, Franklin Music’s creative team will be visiting local schools to run interactive workshops.
Workshop dates will be allocated promptly once schools register. Schools can sign up by emailing office@franklinmusic.net

All participating schools will come together for a mass community performance at the Belfry Shopping Centre, Redhill, on Thursday 16 April 2026.
This joyful event will showcase the voices of hundreds of local young people, supported by Include Choir and Franklin Voices.
Together they will celebrate Redhill’s past, present, and future through music, storytelling, and inclusive performance. Families, friends, and the whole community are warmly invited to attend.
Redhill Rising is continuing beyond the performance as an ongoing community heritage project, and we would love you to be part of it.
We are gathering creative responses to Redhill Rising and to the story of our town. This could include artwork, photography, writing, music, school projects or any other creative ideas that reflect Redhill’s past, present and future.
There will also be opportunities to take part in upcoming activity, including our Youth Choir and a community flash mob performance at the Belfry on 5 September as part of Arts Takeover week.
If you are a school, community group, organisation or individual with an idea or something to share, we would love to hear from you.
